Summer Getaway in Guimaras

How did you start your summer?

Summer here in the Philippines starts around April (just when the school year ends). And by then the weather is already very hot. So me and my friend took the opportunity to head to the beach. There wasn't much nice beaches in Iloilo, so we headed out to Alubihod, Guimaras.

As you can see from the video, the beach is actually really good and clean. Since Boracay is too far from Iloilo, this was probably the next best thing. However it is much smaller compared to Boracay. The sand in comparison is somewhat similar.

How to get there?

From Iloilo City take a boat ride from the Ortiz Warf  to the Jordan Warf in Guimaras(It cost about P14 ). Upon arrival, the locals will direct you to the information area, were you will have to sign up for census purposes. They can also give you information about the place you want to go.
Take a jeepney ride to Nueva Valencia (It cost around P35). Once you get to the stop at Nueva Valencia, take a tricycle ride to the resort (the cost may vary depending on the amount of people, but its usually P25/person).

Which Resort is best?

In my opinion between Alobijod Cove and Raymens Beach Resort, I choose Raymens. The entrance fee and cottages are cheaper. But since it is cheap, there are loads of people and its a bit crowed. Whereas the Alobijod Cove has bigger huts and is more spacious.

But if you're asking about the beach area? Well to be honest it's the same beach. The two resorts are right next to each other. You can actually hop from one resort to the other just by walking along the beach.

And renting a hut is not required. You can actually just sit along the beach and under the shade(if there is one). However I'm not sure about having meals there.

Happy Summer :D
